<itunes:summary>The Cavern Choir treated the community to a Holiday Renaissance Music Concert on December 16, 2007. The Concert was held in winter Eder Delin, one of the loveliest ages in the Cavern at that time of year. Another Concert was held in GameBoomers Neighborhood.

The Renaissance saw an explosion of innovation in all of the fine arts, music chief among them. Composers across Europe explored new expressive possibilities and created exquisite music for their patrons, for their nation, and for their faith. The Cavern Choir presents songs from the period both familiar and rarely performed, in celebration of the winter holidays. Their selection ranges across the European continent, displaying diverse musical styles and traditions, and represents the three major faith traditions for which choral music was written during the period: Catholicism, Protestantism, and Judaism. Come join us as they bring holiday cheer to the Cavern with their rich sound and exciting repertoire.

After weeks of feverish work in her hidden alcove at the old CCN location, Ruby O'Degee finally completed a docu-drama on the dangers associated with the DRC's push to feed the lake algae. Her focus has been to interview a opposition group calling themselves the Guild of Guardians. This is one of several other groups, including the League of Light, who are asking the DRC to justify their motives for stressing the feeding of the algae. Still other groups are supporting the DRC whole-heartedly, since the DRC tells us better fed algae will brighten the lake. The tension between groups is escalating into a major controversy in the community. At great risk to her reputation and possibly her person, Ruby brings you this vital information from her sources who, we understand, are also at great risk. <itunes:summary>After weeks of feverish worknbsp; in her hidden alcove at the old CCN location, Ruby O'Degee finally completed a docu-drama on the dangers associated with the DRC's push to feed the lake algae. Her focus has been to interview a opposition group calling themselves the Guild of Guardians. This is one of several other groups, including the League of Light, who are asking the DRC to justify their motives for stressing the feeding of the algae.nbsp; Still other groups are supporting the DRC whole-heartedly, since the DRC tells us better fed algae will brighten the lake. The tension between groups is escalating into a major controversy in the community.nbsp; At great risk to her reputation and possibly her person, Ruby brings you this vital information from her sources who, we understand, are also at great risk.

Some of that risk has come to fruition for them....nbsp; but this must be made public. Danger cannot be allowed to lurk, even while the lake is dark.

We should warn you that it is a full-length documentary, just over an hour long.nbsp; However, the CCN staff feels your time invested in this issue is well worth it.nbsp;nbsp; The information contained in this program is vital.nbsp; It is important for you, as an explorer, to see this before you bake any more pellets or believe any stories you are told.nbsp; Please pass on this information to as many other explorers as you can!

From Ruby:

"If you want to participate in the community wide story that prompted the movie, go to http://forums.drcsite.org/ (the DRC site) and click on "Share the Journey."nbsp; Find a thread about pellets, League of Light, Guardians of the Lake, Guild of Guardians, or lots of others. Put yourself in the "cavern frame of mind" and participate. It's more fun than smores.

Some of the most talented storytellers in the D'niverse are over there making story, extending story and generally take a tongue in cheek poke at the DRC. There is also an Out of Cavern area where you can learn more about this kind of storytelling. Everyone is welcome.

EDIT: the "story" did not originate at CCN. CCN is a but a twig in this story that was told and is being told by some wonderfully imaginative explorers with some inadverent (or adverent) help from the DRC.nbsp; CCN appreciates being allowed to be part of the greater story, and would like to thank the creators publicly right here. Thanks for story!"

The views expressed by Ruby O'Degee are hers alone and not those of CCN.

(Although the entire CCN staff understands they will, in fact, be held responsible along with Ruby for any misguided, misinformed, or misunderstood statements, comments, or conclusions that she may actually express.nbsp; Whether they enjoy any story of which they become a part, they become a part of whatever story Ruby adds them to.nbsp; They are advised, as always, to consult the portion of their group health insurance policy that pertains to mental distress in the event of such an occurance.)

And now, on to the story.....

<itunes:summary>You are there during the GZ activation thanks to CCN film producer Veralun.nbsp; In late June, 2007, Victor Laxman of the DRC activated the Great Zero beam.nbsp; Explorers had worked for years to pinpoint certain "markers" in the city, neighborhoods, and certain ages in an effort to calibrate the Great Zero.nbsp; The activation was a major event for the entire explorer community, and brings us all one step closer to restoring the grandeur of D'ni.

Here you can see some of the activation.nbsp; Thanks, Veralun!

<itunes:summary>The Cavern Choir gives their Debut Concert in the Beginners' Bevin on March 4, 2007.

The concert, entitled "A Lover's Complaint," tells the story of a young and gallant man wooing his lover through the long hours of a moonlit night. Struck by love at first sight, he determines to win her heart. Throughout the night he expresses elation, sadness, joy and despondency, but as the long hours pass he refuses to give up.

The music is by composers across two centuries of Medieval and Renaissance Europe and is assembled for the choir by Music Director, Domareh.

Now, sit back and enjoy this lovely concert.
